Five on Friday: Christmas Tradition Edition

I've always kept some of my family's Christmas traditions from childhood and since R and I have been together we've made a few new ones. This Five on Friday I wanted to share a few of my favorites.

I thought it would be fun to have an ornament collection for every year we are married.  Of course, I'm such a Lenox addict that the only option was the darling annual Santa ornament with the gold flake.  Here is the 2013 addition.

Our community tree lighting.  It was super crowded so we had to stand on the other side of the street and it was an iPhone pic.  I also love to attend our town parade which is scheduled a little closer to Christmas.

The local Christmas light show, my family loves to go ride the "train" through the lights and visit the candy store afterwards.  I love to pick up chocolate covered peanuts and R likes chocolate covered pretzels and Peach Os with two bottled ginger ales.  I prefer to go right after Thanksgiving for the best candy selection.

25 Days of Christmas. I just love it.  Cuddling under a blanket with R on the sofa with cocoa or tea watching Christmas movies is the perfect way to unwind after a work day or chilly weather shopping.  I also love the Victoria Secret Fashion Show which airs this year on December 10.

Christmas Eve 2011

Just the two of us, Christmas Eve.  R and I love this night, it's just ours and it is spent entirely at home unplugged.   This year I'm taking the whole day off (rare because I often work a half day on Christmas Eve) and we are starting it off with brunch.  R was thinking we would make an eggs benedict with lox and I had pinned this recipe as an option:
I have to call into work for a teleconference and afterwards we are having mimosas to start our holiday off right.  Then baking and dinner prep will begin.  We will probably watch a Christmas movie before unwrapping our gifts to each other.  It's my favorite night of the year!
