Five on Friday

It's been an odd week, I had a two day, unwanted snow-cation and now I have to do a mad rush to finish everything before the end of the month.  It will likely mean no cooking for tonight's dinner...antipasti and wine will probably do the trick.  Here are my five this Friday...
Attempting not to go stir crazy in this house.  I played my first ever round of Jenga. I got better each time we played.
Chicken Pot Pie soup using this recipe.  It was good but next time I'll puree some potatoes to thicken it a little more.
I'm crushing hard on these galvanized baskets and trying to find a use for them in our pantry makeover.

This weekend's project, making our own laundry detergent using this recipe.
And National Hot Wing Day (aka Superbowl Sunday) is upon us.  R and I have placed our order and I'm making a simple dip to go along with it.  Easy.  Peasy.

And the reward for most fun weekly link up goes to (drumroll)...

  1. That chicken pot pie looks delish! I feel ya on the snow-cation, I loved it the first day but then I got cabin fever and was ready to go back to work! ha!

  2. The soup is good, it's actually better the day after it's made. I was okay holed up for two days but my hubs was going nuts...like literally bouncing off the walls unbearable.

    1. I'm thinking they would be perfect to hold potatoes and onions for practical use and may even be brought out to make a rustic centerpiece. I can't wait to check out your blog!

  4. Love those galvanized baskets.....I'm in NC as well and had two days at home and one 3hr school delay for my third grader.

    1. You are probably close to me then, east of Raleigh. I was out Wed and Thurs and I think we got close to 5 inches of snow. I already knew my snow driving skills were not very good but I was surprised that my husband was having difficulty too and he has four wheel drive.

I die for those baskets, they come in a two pack so I'm attempting to use that to justify the price.
